Creating Equal Educational Opportunities for Every Child in Indonesia

Accelero was built from a deep awareness of the learning gap experienced by children across Indonesia’s rural regions. Many have extraordinary potential, yet fall behind simply because they lack strong foundational skills early on. We exist to bridge that gap—strengthening literacy and numeracy at the primary level so that every child, no matter where they’re born, has an equal opportunity to grow, learn, and pursue the future they deserve.

Our Story

Rooted in the Experiences We Once Lived

Accelero was born from our own journey—growing up in rural Indonesia and witnessing firsthand the educational gap between rural and urban communities. When we moved away to pursue higher education, we realized that many children fall behind not because they lack potential, but because their foundational learning was never fully strengthened.

That realization inspired us to build Accelero—a community-led movement to ensure children in remote areas no longer face the same disadvantages. We believe every child, no matter where they are born, deserves strong literacy and numeracy foundations to pursue their dreams with confidence.

Leads Accelero’s on-the-ground programs, including designing and running after-school learning sessions using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. Catherine also strengthens partnerships with local schools and universities, ensuring every child has a meaningful and high-quality learning experience.
